Sunrise at the viewpoint just leaving Tineo |
We had a
wonderful night at Tineo and were ready to start the day. We learned some things
along the way, like looking at the guide and planing the hike analyzing the
profile, making sure to handle expectations about the day and at what time we
would reach our destination.
What a
wonderful view, sunrise over Tineo viewed from the woods... What a blessing to
be able to enjoy such wonders with the ones you love.
We reached
Campiello at 09h30 to have breakfast at Casa Herminia, to find a very warm
welcome and a very good coffee. There we faced the decision to do the way
through Hospitales or to go to Pola. There was fog so we decided to go to Pola
and walk 9 kilometers more in total.
After the break
Emilia took her bike and had so much fun and finally let me help her with the
rope so we had a very good pace.
After Campiello it started
to rain and it didnt stop for many hours. Near La Mortera we found a roof to
cover our heads while having lunch and after a small break Emilia went back to
her stroller to take a nap.
The hardest
moments of our "Camino" were to come. After Porciles a path into the woods
started that was almost impossible for the stroller and so narrow and steep
that we had to carry everything many times while Emilia was sleeping. The worst part was when we reached a soil / mud wall with carved steps into it...no way around it but we just had to lift the stroller with Emilia inside (about 30 kg) and climb the steep, slippery steps.
Just before reaching the highway an uphill started almost as hard as the one after Salas but for us it was worse because we had almost 26 kilometers on our legs. I don't know how we made it but we reached Pola de Allande around 16h00 and Esteban ran ahead of us to make sure we found an open restaurant with warm food.
